You want to feel relaxed and secure, but something gets in the way.

Anxiety can be very difficult to manage day in and day out. It can feel draining to go about trying to live your life while stress, worry or physical symptoms get in the way. Many people who struggle with anxiety feel tense and uncomfortable, but still do their best to take care of their responsibilities.

Anxiety can lead to changes in the way you live your day-to-day life. Sometimes people avoid going certain places or doing certain things because they’re worried they may experience anxiety or panic and want to prevent that. It can feel like you’re being held hostage by your anxiety at times. Sometimes moments that could be joyful become difficult when worried thoughts arise uninvited.

Anxiety can be accompanied by physical symptoms that can be hard to manage. These can range from mildly annoying to extremely difficult to experience. Often these symptoms happen at inopportune times.

You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:

  • You feel overwhelmed by worry or stress and have trouble turning off your anxious thoughts.

  • You’re struggling with some physical symptoms, like trouble sleeping, pounding heart, feeling lightheaded and sweaty, stomach problems, or muscle tension.

  • You strive to do your best at work or school, in relationships or as a parent. Sometimes it feels exhausting, and it’s hard to carve out time to care for yourself.

how i can help

Anxiety therapy can help you develop tools to manage the overwhelm.

As a therapist, I help my clients develop the skills and confidence needed to navigate anxious feelings, so they feel more comfortable and can live the life they envision. I’m excited to help clients who want to feel calmer and more relaxed and are motivated to try some new things to help them get there.

Therapy is a collaborative and supportive process designed to address the thoughts, emotions, body sensations and behaviors that contribute to your anxiety. Through open and honest conversations, we’ll gain a deeper understanding of how your anxiety manifests, and how it impacts your life.

We’ll meet for an initial session to discuss what your unique needs are and put together a plan to address them. During your therapy sessions we’ll practice different strategies to help you feel better. Likely there will be some hard work and also plenty of fun. Together we’ll discover what works best for you.

What we discuss in therapy is confidential. You may feel vulnerable at first, but our pace, what you share and how we approach solutions is up to you. At times I may invite you to look at things in a new way or try a new skill, but it’s always 100% your choice.

In therapy your commitment and active participation are vital to your progress. You’re the expert on your own experiences! I’m here to provide guidance, tools and a safe space for exploration.

I’m here to support you every step of the way on your path of transformation and healing!

I want you to know:

Change is possible.

Let’s work together to find what works for you! I’ll be with you every step of the way as you move forward in your healing journey.

Common questions about anxiety therapy

  • A certain amount of anxiety is normal. As humans we’ve evolved to predict possible dangers, so we can protect ourselves and plan ahead. However, sometimes we respond to everyday concerns as a threat. A work deadline, a social event, a crowded public place or things not going according to plan can trigger a fight or flight response. Therapy can be an effective way to learn to manage anxiety that is excessive.

  • We all have anxious thoughts and feelings from time to time. In fact, they can sometimes help us avoid true danger. Therapy can help you learn how to respond to your anxious thoughts and develop ways to manage uncomfortable physical symptoms. Over time anxiety will stop interfering so much with your life, if you practice what you learn in therapy.

  • Reach out to schedule a consultation so we can discuss how therapy can help you. During your consult you can get any remaining questions answered. From there, we’ll schedule an intake appointment to get into detail and develop a plan together. As we meet for therapy, we’ll put your plan into action so you can begin feeling better!
